intro to plant dyes: preparation, pH and water types
Understanding how to properly prepare your fiber or fabric for even dyeing is the most important step in plant (natural) dyeing. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to properly prepare their fiber or fabric for even dye results. Attendees will also learn the importance of pH and water types that will be extremely useful in their dye practice. At the completion of this workshop, attendees will prepare and cleanse their materials at their own work station and will be able to move on to intro to plant dyes: mordanting, additives, and tannins.
Attendees will be able to take additives home to practice further.
Attendees interested in completing the intro to plant dyes series will receive 15% off their tuition. All levels must be added to cart at checkout for discount activation.
BYOF (bring your own fabric/fiber/yarn). Attendees are required to BYOF. Fabric or yarn must be 100% natural (cotton, silk, hemp, linen, bamboo, tencel, wool, etc.). Fabric blends with 5% lyrca or synthetic are not recommended. Questions or concerns? Please contact us here.

Beginner (no experience needed) and perfect for adults (14+).
One day, approximately 2.5-3 hours.
Tuition cost includes workshop materials, handouts and lecture unless otherwise noted.

All workshops, classes, and camps are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your workshop to a friend or family member. Please let us know ahead of time by giving us a call or emailing customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org. In the event of a workshop cancellation due to enrollment, illness, weather, etc., you will receive 72 hours advanced notice and a full refund.
