april 28 (sun) 11am-1pm: bundle dyeing
Bundle dyeing is a natural dye approach that enables creation of botanical prints, motifs, and organic “tie-dye” patterns using fresh and dried flowers, bark, extracts, and kitchen waste. This workshop will focus on use of plant materials, folding techniques, color modification and more! Students will explore this technique to dye a bandana and tote bag.

About the instructor
Philly made, Melanie Hasan is a self-taught artist and studio owner of Modest Transitions. While challenging beauty norms, Melanie began constructing garments that refine beauty, while innovating designs that are socially respectable for the modestly dressed. She later studied sustainable design and production at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Pa. Modest Transitions highlights her studies of aesthetic and playful use of natural dyes, textile waste and fiber materials.
Workshops require a minimum of 4 students. An email notification will be sent 3 days before class if the enrollment minimum is not met. All dye and fiber materials are included in tuition price unless otherwise noted. All sales are final but can be transferred in the event you can no longer attend.
