march 2 (sat) 1pm-5pm: sew your own tool roll
This workshop is perfect for those that carry project essentials on the go. Sew your own tool roll and give your supplies a protective cover with style. Students will make a tool roll suitable for hand sewing, knitting needles, brushes, pens, markers, pencils, and more! You’ll add pockets, ties, and decorative stitches if you choose.
$110 (workshop + sewing machines + notions)
One 4-hour class, in-person
*Skill level: beginner sewist, students should feel confident in threading, operating, and reading patterns.
*This class requires students to BYOF (bring your own fabric)
*Students will receive a supplies list including pattern upon registration
About the instructor
Philly made, Melanie Hasan is a self-taught artist and studio owner of Modest Transitions. While challenging beauty norms, Melanie began constructing garments that refine beauty, while innovating designs that are socially respectable for the modestly dressed. She later studied sustainable design and production at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Pa. Modest Transitions highlights her studies of aesthetic and playful use of natural dyes, textile waste and fiber materials.
Workshops require a minimum of 4 students. An email notification will be sent 3 days before class if the enrollment minimum is not met. All dye and fiber materials are included in tuition price unless otherwise noted. All sales are final but can be transferred in the event you can no longer attend.
