march 3 (sun) 11am-1pm: tapestry weaving w/ flora & naturally dyed silks
This workshop introduces weaving on a frame loom from warping, creating unique woven textiles using tapestry techniques, and finishing. By the end of class, students will take home a finished wall hanging with skills for further exploration.

About the instructor
Philly made, Melanie Hasan is a self-taught artist and studio owner of Modest Transitions. While challenging beauty norms, Melanie began constructing garments that refine beauty, while innovating designs that are socially respectable for the modestly dressed. She later studied sustainable design and production at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Pa. Modest Transitions highlights her studies of aesthetic and playful use of natural dyes, textile waste and fiber materials.
Workshops require a minimum of 4 students. An email notification will be sent 3 days before class if the enrollment minimum is not met. All dye and fiber materials are included in tuition price unless otherwise noted. All sales are final but can be transferred in the event you can no longer attend.
