origami project bag- a perfect pattern for storing yarn, notions + tools

Posted by Melanie Hasan on

Thank you for being a part of the first-ever Philly yarn crawl. We developed a perfect pattern for storing yarn, notions and tools in collaboration with local sewing studio Sew and Sew Studio also located in Fishtown. This pattern was inspired by our continuous efforts in mindful making. Our pattern utilizes naturally dyed fabric scraps and a fun technique called "yarn couching." Couching uses stitches to tack down threads, yarn and more to create an embellishment like an applique. We invited Sew and Sew Studio to give live demonstrations of yarn couching during the crawl. We encourage you to experiment with different fibers, embellishments, and fabric scraps to make your origami triangle pouch the perfect project bag! We would love to see your finished project bag be sure to tag us on social media @modesttransitions.
